AI for optimizing logistics chains in enterprises

HPCLab employees visited AvtoVAZ (Tolyatti) for the second time this year and discussed the progress of joint projects with MEPhI in the field of AI. Particular attention was paid to the consideration of intra-plant logistics processes at the largest car assembly plant in Europe. In addition to the complexity of the chains themselves and the gigantic scale of production, the challenge, from the point of view of modeling and optimization, is the need to supply parts "in sync" with the operation of the main car assembly conveyor and auxiliary subassembly lines.

From December 25 to 27, 2024, a delegation from MEPhI visited the main production site of AvtoVAZ (Tolyatti).

Delegation members:

  • Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Laboratory (HPCLab) Mikhail Mikhailovich Rovnyagin,
  • Head of the Big Data Department of HPCLab Dmitry Mikhailovich Sinelnikov.

Despite the pre-New Year mood, the activity at the enterprise itself did not subside for a second. The MEPhI delegation and AvtoVAZ specialists also managed to productively work out issues of current interaction on the projects of the Intelligent Production Planning System and Logistics, and coordinate work plans for 2025.
